Homer is a quintessential Alaska town, with a mix of fishermen/women, craftspeople, off-the-grid experts, millionaires, hippies and everything in between. Enjoy accommodations at Land's End Resort, the Driftwood Inn or a nightly rental apartment. Catch the big one or load up your coolers with halibut and salmon. Take the ferry over to Seldovia or Halibut Cove for a fun day trip or a secluded stay on the water. While you are across the bay, explore the Grewingk Glacier, China Poot Lake or Sadie Cove as a day hike or bring your tent for an exhilarating backpacking or kayak adventure. Be sure to stop by the Salty Dog Saloon and the Salmon Sisters flagship store for that iconic Alaska gear. For eats, head to the oyster bar at the Kachemak Shellfish Growers association on the spit, grab dinner at Fat Olives and toast the town at Alice's Champagne Palace. Fish on!
