Lush mountains and sparkling green-blue waters await you in Tahiti and French Polynesia. An overnight flight from LAX or SFO takes just 8 hours to land you in paradise. We opted for a mixed itinerary of resorts, condos and villas on the islands of Tahiti and Moorea. First stop was the Intercontinental Tahiti with multiple pools, bars, restaurants and an expansive waterfront property which was the perfect spot to unwind for a few days and pamper ourselves after the flight. Second stop was a condo in Paea which gave us the opportunity to explore Tahiti Iti and the Teahupo'o Wave while also enjoying snorkeling from the white sand beach. Next we took the ferry over to Mo'orea, which was simply stunning. Mo'orea is the land of fantasies, with steep peaks rising out of the clearest gorgeous water I've ever seen. Our first stay was in a villa up in the hills, affording us up close views of the greenery along with expansive ocean views complete with dolphin and whale-viewing. The villa offered us access to one of the more local areas of the island where we sampled coconut crab, Tahitian massage and went out with the local boat captains for a snorkeling tour. Last, but certainly not least, we couldn't leave without a stay in an overwater bungalow at Hotel Manava. I wondered if staying in an overwater bungalow would live up to the hype, and I can assure you that it did! More in-depth Tahiti info to come, but certainly worth considering for your next beach vacation. xoxo Rebekah
