The Rio San Juan serves as the only form of transport and lifelife for several communities along the water. We stayed at the remote and lovely Hotel Sabalos at the confluence of the Sabalos and San Juan rivers. Truly a magnificent experience, we canoed the river, visited El Castillo and hiked in the Indio Maiz Biological Reserve. Birds and caimans woke us in the morning where tranquility and simplicity ruled the day. Looking for a unique experience well off the beaten path? Give me a call!
